One, historical origin and current situation of Khoomei

According to the textual research, the history of Khoomei can be traced back to the Xiongnu period, and it has been produced before and after the formation of the Mongolian nationality at the latest. The ancestors of the Mongolian Plateau were devoutly imitating the voice of nature in hunting and nomadic activities. They believed that this was an important way to effectively communicate with nature and the universe and get along harmoniously. Thus, some potential of the human vocal organs were developed. When a person imitated the voice of waterfalls, mountains, forests and animals, he/she can produce "harmony", that was, the rudiment of Khoomei.

The modern ethnic throat singing groups are mainly Mongolia, Inner Mongolia and the Republic of Tuva, Russia. There are also different forms of overtone singing groups and individuals around the world. There are dozens of singing forms of Khoomei. Most of the accompanying instruments areMorin khuurs. However, the winners and holders of throat singing world records are not limited to the above three major overtone singing groups. The former throat singing world record winner David McFetridge and Dean Frenkel of Melbourne, Australia, as well as the current Khoomei world record winner and holder Xiulin Chang are good examples.

Two, Experience summary of the world record achievement of the world Khoomei performance and singing

The world record competition rule with the longest Khoomei time of one breath is: only one breath can be used to the Khoomei that can be no interruption during the breath.

Under such strict professional competition rules, a throat singing or Khoomei singer should grasp the following aspects well in order to achieve the best competition results:

1,The vital capacity is the key objective factor to decide the success or failure. Therefore, the contestant should try to improve his/her vital capacity, which is the objective requirement of this competition for the singing ability of contestant's physical fitness. My personal feeling is that often running marathons with a heavy load always help me to improve my lung capacity. You may as well try it.

2,It's important to have a humble game mentality. There should be no showing off or nervous state of mind. Think of yourself as "you are the only one on the stage, you are competing with yourself, and no body else is watching you". This normal state of mind helped me to achieve the best result

3,Trying to keep the same tone/sound of a throat singing all the time is a trick to get the best result in the game. Try best to keep the sound level consistent with the speed of sound all the time to help get the best result.

4,A good command of English communication is the prerequisite for a free world record certification.

5,Having the professional knowledge system and skills of world Khoomei performance and singing referee experts can effectively solve various professional problems in the recognition process of world record certification.

6,Keeping the open thinking mode of world or international Khoomei performance and singing will help to reach a consensus with international throat singing certified experts.

Three, The future development of world Khoomei performance and singing

1,From a macro point of view, the world Khoomei performance and singing is divided into a throat singing by an opened or a closed mouth. At present, most of throat singings have been performing by opened mouths. Few of which are showed by closed mouths. My throat singing work by my completely closed mouth titled "the devil's strange Khoomei leaking a secret of the heaven" was broadcasted in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala collection Video Exhibition in 2013, and was praised by the audience. Unexpectedly, the experts and audience in Europe and America ardentily love it, and also invited me to apply for a world record. It seems that the performance and singing of nasal Khoomeis is a direction of world Khoomei performances and singings in the future.

2,In the future, the integration of ancient and modern music elements will be a development direction of Khoomei performances and singings. It is the market demand of the world to give Khoomei performances and singings in English by adding traditional overtone singings to other ancient and modern music elements such as rock and opera etc.

3,The integration of ventriloquism, oral skills, nose skills, rap and dance and other musical elements is a development direction of Khoomei performances and singings in the future. Professionals/experts in this field will have a place to play.

Four,Brief summary: the national intangible cultural heritage Khoomei has made a gratifying milestone towards the world intangible cultural heritage recognition.There is a long way to go in the exploration and development of the world intangible cultural heritage Khoomei cause . I hope that all colleagues work together to make greater contributions for the cause of national and world Khoomei performances and singings.
